Canada 150 Celebrations in Simcoe County

Simcoe County is all abuzz for Canada’s 150th birthday! Events are beginning now in honour of this occasion and carrying right through the summer. Celebrate this milestone by checking out some of the amazing events and activities happening around the region. 

Illuminate Barrie Kick-Off
When: June 28, 4 pm – 10 pm
Where: Barrie Waterfront Parks
What Is It: A kick-off to Canada 150th celebrations, enjoy a fun-filled evening with a thrilling air show over Kempenfelt Bay. This show features the Snowbirds, CF18, Vimy Flight and displays from Canada Forces out of Base Borden. Enjoy free entertainment all day on the Promenade Days stage including a special lineup of local and regional talent including: Tori Hathaway, MoonFruits, The Baytowne Big Band, The White Pine Dancers, Mudmen, and a special guest singer

When: June 28, 1 – 9 pm
Where: Heritage Park
What Is It: Check out the Family Fun Zone featuring inflatable games, free face-painting, vendors, and exhibits. Don’t miss the free activities including Canadian wildlife displays, kids dance, and Fire and Glow performance by Scarlet Black & Ito the Rope Artist at 8:30 pm.

Collingwood Festival for Canada
When: June 30 – Jul 2
Where: Downtown Collingwood and Harbour
What Is It: Come out to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday with special events throughout downtown Collingwood at the harbour. Fun to be had for the whole family!

Canada Day Newmarket
When: July 1 @ 11 am – 4 pm
Where: Fairy Lake Park

Midland Canada Day Celebrations
