Things to do in Barrie during the Spring

Spring is just around the corner, and there plenty of things to do in Barrie with your family to enjoy the best the season has to offer! If you’re planning a visit to a local Barrie attraction, or searching for a program to help your children learn a new skill, we have a few suggestions that are sure to spark your interest.

There are a number of Barrie events for those with a green thumb, or if you’re looking for spring inspiration for your home and garden. Both the Spring Garden & Home Show at Bradford Greenhouses and the Spring Home Show at the Barrie Molson Centre are free events happening March 8^th & 9^th. Browse local vendors and see the latest in home and gardening trends. You’ll be sure to find something you love!

Maple syrup season is in full swing, and your family will enjoy some of the best maple syrup in the area at Shaw’s Maple Syrup Bush. Take part in sleigh rides through the sugar bush and enjoy a bite to eat at the pancake house. The Chappell Farms Spring Festival takes place in April. Enjoy wagon rides, animals and magic shows amongst the many other activities taking place on the farm.

The Spring/Summer 2014 City of Barrie Spring & Summer Recreation guide is now available! The City of Barrie offers so many great programs, activities and day camps for children of all ages to participate in, as well as a great selection for adults. Swimming, dancing, sports and cooking are just a few of the many programs that are offered throughout spring and summer. The Town of Innisfil also offers an extensive program list with summer day camp options.
