We’re now well into summer so take advantage of this beautiful weather! Visit your local Farmer’s Market to meet artisans, bakers, farmers and craftsman, who bring their handmade items straight from the fields and workshops into your shopping bag. The Innisfil Farmers Market is in full swing every Thursday from 2-7pm until October 10th, giving you and your family the chance to come out and see what’s in store.  Sandy Dickey, who helps run the market, and was the founding vendor says “the goal is to get people out in the community to support local businesses”.

As you arrive at the Innisfil Recreational Complex you will be welcomed by a variety of different vendors, and can enjoy entertainment from a busker each week while you shop. Take in the community as you stroll through the market where you will find Carpe Diem Farm Ltd., an orchard that grows delicious produce and create homemade jams, pies and fresh cider. If you’re craving the treats your mom or grandmother used to make then head over to Summers Oven Bakery, where you can find everything from date squares to gluten free delights. Dickey Bee Honey, a 4th generation business, provides the community with quality local honey products you’ll be sure to love. These are just a few of the delectable businesses you’ll come across.

If you are local to Barrie, visit the Barrie Farmer’s Market year-round, rain or shine every Saturday from 8am – noon. With over 45 different vendors offering all kinds of locally made goods and produce, this is the perfect way to start off your weekend! Some of the amazing arts and craft creations you’ll find are handmade cards, unique paintings, wood turned designs and beautiful hand crafted jewellery. Traditional baked goods, cupcake treats and handmade chocolate truffles will satisfy your sweet tooth, while a number of produce vendor’s will help you stock up on fresh goods, including organic selections.
