Splash Pads in Simcoe County You Won’t Want to Miss this Summer!

Longer days and glorious rays of sunshine…signs that summer is upon us! That can also mean some hot, sticky and humid days when we dream of jumping into a swimming pool. If you don’t have a pool in your backyard, relief is still in sight just minutes away at the splash pad.

Grab your swimsuit and check out these fun and refreshing locations throughout Simcoe County.

 

Alliston

  • Riverdale Park, King Street N. & Fletcher Crescent

The Rotary Adventure Playground was remodeled in 2015 to include an approximately 3,400 square foot splash park featuring 13 water elements. Open 9:00 am to 8:00 pm daily. The park is also home to the Rotary outdoor pool.

Angus

  • Lion’s Community Park, 6 Huron Street

This park offers numerous amenities for a day of fun including a playground, picnic tables, baseball diamond, fishing access, and seasonal washrooms. The splash pad is open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm daily from Victoria Day to Labour Day.

  • Stonemount Park, 152 Greenwood Drive

Spend a sunny afternoon at Stonemount Park making use of the playground, picnic tables, outdoor pads, and seasonal washrooms. The splash pad is open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm daily from Victoria Day to Labour Day.


Barrie

  • Heritage Park Water Feature, Lakeshore Drive on Kempenfelt Bay

Heritage Park is one of a series of parks circling around Barrie’s Kempenfelt Bay. This park features a sheltered gazebo with seating and beautiful gardens. The water sculpture and splash fountains run from May through Thanksgiving weekend with public washrooms open 7:00 am to 11:00 pm daily.

  • Lampman Lane Splash Pad, 59 Lampman Lane

This full-service park offers fun for the whole family featuring basketball and tennis courts, baseball diamond, skate park, playground, and gazebo. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 8:00 pm daily from Victoria Day to Labour Day.


Beeton

  • Memorial Arena Park, Prospect & Second Street

Beat the heat at Beeton’s own splash pad facility in the heart of town located adjacent to the Memorial Arena. Play on the playground or splash around the water feature, open 9:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.


Bradford

  • Lions Park, Colborne Street

This beautiful park is a gem near downtown Bradford. Facilities include a playground, tennis courts, baseball diamond, picnic gazebo, and a community garden. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily from early June to mid-September.

  • Alan Kuzmich Memorial Park, 70 Aishford Road

Named after a local police officer killed in the line of duty, the park offers a playground and walking trails. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily from early June to mid-September.

  • Dreamfields Park, east end of Vipond Way

Serving the community of north-west Bradford, Dreamfields Park offers playground fun for children. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily from early June to mid-September.

  • Henderson Memorial Park, 3171 9th Line

This park opened May 22, 2018 and includes facilities such as a splash pad, accessible playground, tennis and basketball courts, soccer fields and bathrooms. Splash pad runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and park gates close nightly at 11 p.m.


Cookstown

  • Cookstown Community Park, 20 Church Street

Located at the site of the old Cookstown Fairgrounds next to the public library and community centre, this park offers a paved patio, playground, soccer field, tennis court, and refreshing splash pad.


East Gwillimbury

  • Harvest Hills Park, Woodspring Avenue & Harvest Hills Boulevard

Located in north-west Newmarket in the town of East Gwillimbury, the Harvest Hills community behind Costco is home to the town’s newest splash pad. Features of the park include a playground, basketball court, soccer field, walking trails and sun shelter. The splash pad is open from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm daily.


Newmarket

  • Rogers Park, 170 London Road

Previously known as the Rogers Wading Pool, this park was redesigned to include a splash park. the park features a playground, sports field, baseball diamond, picnic tables and seasonal portable washrooms. The splash pad is open 10:00 am to 9:00 pm daily from late-May to September.

  • Riverwalk Commons, 200 Doug Duncan Drive

Located outside the Newmarket Community Centre and Lions Hall, this park provides an outdoor stage and is home to numerous summer events. Dip your feet in the wading pool while children splash about in the water feature. The splash pad is open 10:00 am to 9:00 pm daily throughout the summer.


Orillia

  • JB Tudhope Memorial Park, 450 Atherley Road

Situated on the shores of Lake Couchiching, this park is home to two baseball diamonds and the popular Moose Beach. Other features of this 65-acre park include a playground, beach volleyball area, picnic tables and public washrooms. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.

  • Clayt French Park, 114 Atlantis Drive

This park features a playground, basketball court, outdoor rink in winter, picnic shelters, walking trails, and public washrooms. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.

  • Victoria Park, 75 Coldwater Road W.

One of Orillia’s smaller community parks, enjoy a quick visit to play on the playground or have a picnic lunch. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.

  • McKinnell Square Park, 135 Dunedin Street

This beautiful park in the centre of town features a playground, baseball diamonds, winter outdoor rink, picnic tables, and public washrooms. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.

  • Hillcrest Park, 255 Matchedash Street N.

This park also features a playground, basketball court, winter outdoor rink and picnic shelter. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.


Penetanguishene

  • Rotary Champlain Wendat Park, 8 Owen Street

This 11,000 square foot splash pad provides endless fun for little ones to splash and stay cool. Other features of this beach park include a playground, basketball court, skate park, beach volleyball, disc golf, picnic pavilion and public washrooms. The splash pad is open 10:00 am to 8:00 pm daily from mid-June to mid-September.


Port Severn

  • Port Severn Beach and Park, 39 Minten’s Lane

Located right off the highway at Lone Pine Road and Port Severn Road, this cottage country park features boating access, a sandy beach, playground, picnic area, and public washrooms. The waterworks splash pad is a perfect spot for little ones to splash and cool off.


Thornton

  • Thornton Arena Park, 246 Barrie Street

This beautiful park offers something for everyone featuring a playground, picnic tables and picnic gazebo, baseball diamond, outdoor pads, and seasonal washrooms. The splash pad is open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm daily from Victoria Day to Labour Day.


Tottenham

  • Tottenham Fitness and Community Centre, 139 Queen Street N.

Located just outside of the community centre fronting Fraser Street, this outdoor water feature is perfect for little ones to splash around and cool off. The splash pad is open 9:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.
