It's only fair to share...Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestEmail this to someoneShare on Reddit

For the first time ever, The Faris Team will be participating in the 2015 Barrie Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, August 22nd. This fun-filled summer event that promotes community, recreation, culture and social awareness, has raised over $1.5 million dollars for local charities since its founding year in 2003 and we are thrilled to be a part of it this year. Joanna Faris, Chief Marketing Officer at The Faris Team had participated in the race as a paddler over 10 years ago. Now, she is very excited to share that experience with The Faris Team and give back to the community; “Philanthropy is a core value of The Faris Team and we are very excited about this opportunity to give back.” – Joanna Faris.

The team members include Mark Faris, Broker, who is the captain, Joanna Faris, as co-captain, The Faris Team’s Sales Partners: Joel Faris, Sheila Croney, Thomas Faris, Matthew Carberry, Courtney Dumond, Ania Koziorowski, Josh Faris, Sabrina Staunton, John Facey-Crowther and Rob Hindle. Also other members of The Faris Team: Kris Van Bodegom who will soon be joining as a Sales Partner, Ryan Crewson, Karen Elliott, Nicole Crewson, Kayla Faria, Melanie Brooker, Chelsea Juhlke, Gemma De Luca and Erika Boon. Most of our paddlers are new to the sport, however we all have a competitive edge and are excited to train with our hired coach, Amber Sperling.

Each year local businesses represent and support a local charity of their choice. The Faris Team is honoured to be representing Redwood Park Communities. Redwood is partnered with the Barrie Women’s Shelter and provides transitional housing for these women. This housing DRASTICALLY improves their odds of transitioning successfully out of abuse and poverty. Their second project launches in 2015 to tackle the lack of emergency transitional housing for families in Barrie. We are so thankful for the Barrie Public Library and the initiative they have taken to better our community by putting on this event year after year.

We invite you to come on out and cheer us on!
