The warmer weather is a reminder that farmers’ markets are beginning to open all over Simcoe County.

This list of farmers’ markets throughout the region should provide plenty of access to fresh, local, in-season produce, delicious preserves and foods, baked goods, hand-crafted artisan specialities. Enjoy some live entertainment too.

Alliston Farmers’ Market

You’ll find baked goods, jams, jellies, honey, syrups, crafts, plants, local potato chips, meats, and of course, fruits and veggies from local farmers.

Location: Corner of Victoria and Mill Streets
Hours: Saturdays, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, May 12 to October 27

Angus Farmers’ Market

Started in 2016 as an Edible Essa initiative, the market aims to share a growing experience; raised locally, organically grown and healthy foods while building friendships and cross-pollinating ideas.

Barrie Farmers’ Market

Established in 1846, Barrie Farmers’ Market is older than Canada itself. Held on the premises of Barrie City Hall, an official bill protects the City’s right to an acre of land and a Market House for the Barrie Farmers’ Market.
