The excitement and buzz in the Faris Team Innisfil Client Experience Centre are palpable.

Why? Faris Team staff have adopted two families from the Barrie Food Bank. The presents are wrapped, organized, labelled, and they’re ready to be delivered. This team is on a big high – one you can only get from giving back.

Faris Team gives back

They don’t call it the joy of giving for nothing, and this team is as ecstatic as Santa’s elves.

When the call went out to pitch in to support the gift-giving effort for two adopted families, the response was immediate. Says Joanna Faris, “Our team was able to pull together and purchase every item on both families’ wish lists, and then some. I am overwhelmed with how amazing the support has been from our team when I reached out to them to let them know what we will be doing as a team this year. Christmas can be a very hard time for many, and we decided to adopt two Food Bank families, specifically two single moms with their young children. We really wanted to bring them some peace, joy, and we wanted to show them that they are loved. We wanted to give them the best Christmas ever.”

A significant part of Faris Team’s mission is to go full out® for the community where every member of the team is committed to giving back year-round, and with every home sold, it allows Faris Team to give more. So it’s fair to say that if any team understands the joy of giving, it’s this one. If you haven’t gotten in on the action, you should experience it for yourself.

This is how adopting a family works: every year, the Barrie Food Bank assists families who wouldn’t otherwise get to experience Christmas. Families in need provide a wish list of items for each member of their family to the Barrie Food Bank and the community then gets to play Santa by sponsoring these families. Often co-workers or multiple families band together to purchase, wrap, label and deliver these items to the food bank.

Contact the Barrie Food Bank as they are still 150,000 lbs short on food. Barrie Christmas Cheer has also set a $250,000 goal and could use your support. These, and many others are worthy causes and contributing to them will leave you feeling like you got more than you gave.
