Spring has finally arrived! To celebrate the advent of the season and the Easter holiday, The Faris Team rolled up our sleeves once again on April 9th in support of the Barrie Food Bank. Toting our “Full Out For You” attitudes and loads of elbow grease, our staff helped to sort 46,000 lbs of food destined for Barrie families and individuals in need.

Volunteers and donors are critical to the Barrie Food Bank’s success. In the month of March alone, the Barrie Food Bank served over 3,100 individuals, which once again is a new record number for the food bank. “We receive help from over 120 weekly volunteers that support our operation week in and week out,” explains Peter Sundborg, Executive Director of the Barrie Food Bank. “Volunteers like The Faris Team who come in to sort food from the drive events bring this number to over 400. We could not do the work that we do without our great volunteers and the help of groups like The Faris Team”.

In 2014, the Barrie Food Bank received over one million pounds in food donations from the generous community, which helped to feed over 33,000 individuals including 1,106 first time users of the food bank.

The Barrie Food Bank is always in need of food and financial donations, which can be dropped off at the Food Bank directly or through one of their partner organizations listed on their website www.barriefoodbank.org . Most needed items include: powdered skim milk, baby formula, large size diapers, canned vegetables, sugar, toiletries, drinking boxes, and lunch snacks.

The Faris Team is dedicated to supporting our community and giving back, and we continuously demonstrate this commitment through our involvement and support of numerous charities, foundations and local sports teams. We are proud and blessed to have a staff that is so generous with their time and effort, putting their all into everything that they do, whether volunteering for a good cause or going full out to make sure that you have the best possible real estate experience.
