Yesterday, the city of Orillia was all abuzz as the Santa Claus Parade came to town! An annual event for the city, this year’s Winter Wonderland theme was well received by the crowd. Recognized as the largest Santa Claus Parade north of Toronto, the Orillia Santa Claus Parade had over 100 wonderfully festive floats.
It was a cold and windy day, but that didn’t hinder Orillia’s residents from attending, as there was a great turn out lining the parade route along Centennial Drive, Colborne Street and Mississauga Street. Red-nosed children, bundled up in their snowsuits and mittens, patiently awaited the arrival of Santa Claus while sipping hot chocolate and eating sweet candy canes.

The Faris Team, all decked out in Faris Team jerseys and Santa hats, walked along the festively decorated Faris Team van, handing out packs of hand warmers and candy canes. The hand warmers were especially well received by the chilly onlookers; given the blustery weather, they may have been almost as big of a hit as the big guy himself. Since the team has recently expanded by opening a new office in Orillia, it was a perfect opportunity to show our support for the community and meet so many wonderful people. We look forward to participating in more Santa Claus Parades in the years to come!
