Community Partner, The Faris Team, Donates $10,000 for GBGH Emergency Department Revitalization Project
Members of The Faris Team’s North Simcoe office presented their $10,000 donation, in person, to members of the Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) Foundation, GBGH Administration and Emergency Department Team, yesterday (May 4, 2017).
“We are very grateful for this generous donation from The Faris Team,” said Lois Lipton, president of the GBGH Foundation. Surprised and humbled by The Faris Team’s donation to the hospital, she added, “Our goal is to provide our physicians and medical staff with the best tools to provide the best care to our community. It is only with support from individuals and organizations, like The Faris Team, that we are able to do that.”
The donated funds will be used to help Georgian Bay General Hospital complete the final phases of the redevelopment of its Emergency Department, which now has over 45,000 patient visits a year.
“When we attended the ‘Breakfast of Champions’ recently, toured the hospital and heard the statistics on the number of people that visit the hospital in a year, it really put into perspective how vital hospitals are in our communities,” said Mark Faris, Chief Executive Officer and Broker, Royal LePage First Contact Realty The Faris Team, Brokerage. “After the presentation, our commitment to go full out® for the community kicked into high gear, and the next day, we made a $10,000 donation to the GBGH Foundation. We also want to use this opportunity to raise awareness of the GBGH Foundation’s need for additional community support to reach their goals.”
Partnerships with the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation are the key to the on-going success of the hospital. In addition to community support through donations, over 200 community members volunteer at the Georgian Bay General Hospital on a regular basis.
John Kurvink, Georgian Bay General Hospital’s Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, Vice-President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer said, “We are grateful to The Faris Team for their interest in working with the hospital.
