Growing up on a farm in a Christian family with eight siblings, Mark played semi-professional hockey in Sweden and the US before pursuing a career in real estate. He attributes much of his success in hockey to going “full out” and has used that same principle as a real estate professional by going full out in serving his clients. Mark established his company with a vision to create the best real estate experience in the world. His thriving business is highly based on repeat clients and referrals, fulfilling Faris Team’s mission to make every client a raving fan. Faris Team has experienced tremendous growth and continues to win awards both locally and internationally for their selling and marketing techniques. Mark leads the team in their philosophy of going full out for clients, full out for the community and full out for the team. Mark is happily married to Joanna Faris, who is Chief Marketing Officer of Faris Team. Together, they strive to honour Jesus Christ by leading Faris Team to world-class success. Mark enjoys being a father and spending time with their three young boys.
WHAT SONG MOTIVATES YOU?
Eye of the Tiger from the Rocky soundtrack. My boys love it as well; they request for it to be played almost every morning while I drive them to school.
WHAT ARE THE 3 FAVOURITE PLACES YOU’VE TRAVELLED?
Seeing the Coliseum in Rome, Italy. There is so much history there. Learning how to cook authentic pasta in Tuscany, Italy with my wife Joanna. Playing on the beautiful beach of Turks and Caicos with my family.
WHO OR WHAT HAS INFLUENCED YOUR LIFE MOST?
Jesus Christ is the largest influence in my life. I am so blessed for his unmerited love and favour. I am most inspired by watching an individual beat all odds and rise to the top.
WHAT’S AN EXPERIENCE THAT’S MADE YOU STRONGER?
Having my appendix rupture in Africa. I was on a Royal LePage Chairman Retreat and had to stay at a Nairobi hospital for one week. This experience made me appreciate how fragile life is and that every day is a blessing.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING A REALTOR?
I love the challenge of putting together a complicated deal, being trusted with people’s most valuable asset, their home, and that every day is different. I love being part of the #1 Royal LePage team in Canada out of nearly 20,000 Realtors®, and am so proud of our team achieving this success despite being from a smaller market. No one thought it was possible.
