John’s engaging personality coupled with his community ties to Barrie and surrounding areas make him a dynamic and capable Realtor®. Having spent over a decade in the media and communications sector, John has made a substantial contribution to Barrie’s culture and character. John has completed various real estate specialization programs, notably: Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist CLHMS designation, Million Dollar Guild CLHMS Designation, Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), and Certified Negotiation Specialist (CNE). John has hosted several radio shows with Corus Entertainment, including Barrie’s Hit Morning Show, B101 (101.1 FM). It was there he helped build the station’s social media presence to become the largest among radio stations in Barrie. At home, John likes to spend time with his wife and sons, listen to music, attend concerts and is an ardent Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan. His commitment and dedication to the community is further demonstrated through his volunteer work, most notably with the Barrie and District Christmas Cheer program and the SPCA. WHAT DID YOU DO PRIOR TO REAL ESTATE?
I was a radio personality! I began my radio career in 2002 at 102.1 The Edge in Toronto and eventually ended up in Barrie where I was a morning show host on B101 FM.
WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE SPACE AT HOME?
My basement. As a teenager, I spent a lot of time in the basement and it continues as an adult. It’s such a comfortable space and it also helps that I have surround sound and a big TV.
WHAT SONG MOTIVATES YOU?
Anything by the Foo Fighters. They are by far my favourite band and I’ve actually had the chance to meet them.
WHAT’S THE MOST CHALLENGING THING YOU HAVE EVER DONE?
Become a parent. Being a dad is the greatest thing I’ve ever done, but there is so much that you just can’t prepare yourself for. Anyone who is a parent knows that you would do anything for your child to ensure they have the best upbringing and that they are always safe.
